Portrait of Elze Rackaityte

Elze Rackaityte, PhD

Principal Investigator

I’m an immunologist and protein biochemist developing high-throughput approaches to understand maternal-fetal immune interactions and their role in pregnancy complications. My training spans protein biochemistry, genomics, immunology, and translational research, with a focus on using large-scale molecular approaches to uncover mechanisms of disease. I received my Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UCSF and my B.A. in Biological Sciences from Wellesley College.

Maggie Mayer, MS

Visiting Scholar

Maggie is originally from Austria, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology with a focus on Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, and Immunology at the University of Vienna. She joined the Lynch Lab in 2024, where she now investigates maternal microbial exposures and preterm birth for her PhD, co-mentored by David Berry in Vienna. She is collaborating on an exciting bacterial protein display project in our lab!
